Zero-waste Haircare: ACV rinse and Wooden Hair Brush
We earlier discussed about the advantages of switching to a solid shampoo bar. In addition to it, once in a while I use an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse (1 tbsp ACV in a cup of water). Personally, it has helped improve the appearance and the health of my hair. 🍎 You can also add few drops of lavender essential oil to the solution (optional).
After shampooing and rinsing you hair, pour the ACV rinse over your scalp and allow it to run through your hair. Let it sit for a minute or two and then rinse thoroughly.
ACV hair rinse helps in getting rid of all the build up that is caused by sweat and conventional hair products. It also is beneficial to your hair if you generally have an itchy scalp. ACV rinse helps me style my hair better (I feel like I have better control over my hair and that it’s not in it’s usual stubborn state!)
Talking about styling, for over a year I have been using a biodegrable detangling comb and hairbrush for my hair. The bamboo pins help massage the scalp and are gentle on your hair. And I found them to be more durable than the plastic combs and brushes! If you are planning to buy one, look for combs and brushes with the FSC label. “The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. The FSC does this by setting standards on forest products, along with certifying and labeling them as eco-friendly.”
