Soapberries are the fruit of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree and their dried outer shell contains ‘saponins’ which produces a natural soap. Soap nuts have made my laundry toxin-free and green. Thrilled by the results, I decided to explore the other ways I could use these miracle nuts. I wanted a home-made cleaning liquid that was easy to make and safe to use in all surfaces. So I picked a couple of soap nuts to make a 100% natural and chemical free all-purpose cleaner!
3 cups of water
15 soap nuts
How to make:
Add the soap nuts and water to a pot and bring it to boil.
Reduce the heat and cover the pot. Let it simmer for at least 30 minutes. Keep an eye on the pot, because sometimes it could boil over.
Remove from heat and allow the liquid to cool.
Take out the soap nuts and put it in the compost.
Transfer the liquid to a container.
